This garden was created for a large family. The program involves 3 buildings, a pool and spa, numerous retaining walls, a grilling area, a basket ball court, as well as driveway and parking court. The unifying space for this garden is the swimming pool area where this New York family spends many joyful hours.
View of the pool descending from the main house deck, traversing the grilling/eating area. Planters flank the pool entrance and provide an opportunity for seasonal accents.
View North towards the main house from the guest bedroom patio. Pear trees help separate the pool from the parking courtyard.
The linear annual border lines the free standing section of the stone wall at the pool area. This wall provides the 4 ft. enclosure required for water safety.
More stone walls were integrated elsewhere on the property to facilitate the grading needed to create a large play area for the children.
